Will Mirio Togata or Bakugo Katsuki Inherit Deku’s Powers?

In the world of My Hero Academia, the most sought-after quirk is undoubtedly One For All, the power that grants its user incredible abilities and potential to become the greatest hero the world has ever seen. Currently, this powerful quirk is held by Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku. But as the series progresses, the question arises: who will eventually inherit One For All?

Bakugo Katsuki technically inherited One For All during the final fight scene against the villain Nine in the My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising movie. However, for an unknown reason, the transfer did not complete, and One For All reverted to Deku. The myheroacademia fandom community speculates that Bakugo lost consciousness during the transfer, leading to the failure. Despite this, it is highly unlikely Bakugo would accept One For All again due to his strong belief in his own supremacy. He would likely refuse to become the hero, maintaining his belief that he is already the strongest.

The myheroacademia universe remains centered around the anime and manga canon, and canon-wise, there are very few indications that Bakugo or Mirio Togata will inherit One For All.

Sir Nighteye, a former All-for-One user, had high hopes for Mirio, telling him that he would become the finest hero the world has ever seen. Some speculate that Sir Nighteye’s dying words hint at Mirio receiving One For All through the Permeation Quirk. This theory suggests that Mirio’s unbreakable nature would allow him to inherit and amplify the power beyond Izuku’s original capacity, making him virtually untouchable. However, this remains a speculative idea, as there is no explicit mention in the series.

Speculative Ways for One For All to Be Passed Down

There are some other theories about how One For All could be passed down without Izuku explicitly giving it away. For instance, if characters like Neito Monoma or Tamaka Amajiki could temporarily copy One For All and then pass down a modified version of it. Additionally, there’s the possibility of Himiko Toga inheriting and copying the power, as her Quirk, Awakening, has certainly demonstrated the ability to copy quirks.
