Top Satisfaction in Manga Reading: A Curated List
Whether you enjoy a slice of life, a romantic comedy, or something a bit more melancholic, there's a vast collection of manga and webtoons out there that can satisfy your reading needs. Here’s a list of some of the most satisfying ones, along with my personal recommendations and some summaries to pique your interest.
Slice of Life, Romance, and More
I recently started reading Ao Haru Ride and I must say, it's a masterpiece. The gentle and heartfelt approach to the story is infectious. If you're looking for something that's not just your typical slice of life or romance, check out Yagate Kimi ni Naru. It's a bit like a slow burner, and it's definitely worth the read.
Other notable mentions include:
ReLife - A webtoon that has caught my attention with its compelling storyline. Erased - While the anime might not be as popular, the manga is a hidden gem in my opinion. It has a score of 8/10 in my books. Strobe Edge - This manga is from the same author as Ao Haru Ride, so if you liked the latter, you should give this a try too.Magical Overpowered Characters
My personal taste leans towards stories where the protagonist is overpowered or has some sort of advantage over others. These characters often have a compelling journey of self-discovery and growth. Here are some of the manga with such characters:
Solo Leveling The Reincarnation Magician of the Inferior Eyes The Villainess Reverses the Hourglass A Returner's Magic Should Be Special Versatile Mage Dungeon ResetHidden Gems and Classic Series
It’s been a while since I delved into manga, usually preferring anime. But here are a few hidden gems that stand out:
Real Account Darwin's GameFor those who enjoy a touch of horror and mystery in their reading, Durarara is a great choice, even if it's more of a light novel series.
But the ultimate shonen classic that I'm really excited to recommend is Hunter x Hunter. Despite not watching the popular ones, I think this is the best long-running shonen series. It tells the story of Gon, a young boy searching for his father who is a Hunter, and the adventure unfolds from there. Here are some highlights:
Meet Killua, a child assassin, Kurapika from the mysterious Phantom Troupe, and Leorio, a normal guy aspiring to be a doctor. Experience the best arc in the series: the Phantom Troupe and the Chimera Ants. Each has its own unique atmosphere and storyline which makes for a compelling read. For a more immersive experience, you might want to watch the anime series, especially the one with 100 episodes, as it directly follows the manga storyline.
