A Personal Experience with Specialized Rock Hopper
One of my all-time favorite bikes is a Specialized Rock Hopper with a steel frame. Its reputation is well-deserved, as it is practically bulletproof. I have loaned it out and even had it involved in a few crashes, but with little visible or mechanical damage. This made it the perfect bike for various purposes, such as commuting around town, self-contained bike touring and camping trips, trail riding, and pulling a youth trailer and tag-along.
The bike is named Martyn, after a British friend from grad school. I affectionately call it my "Urban Assault Vehicle" because of its durability and versatility. It exemplifies the best qualities of a steel hardtail frame, making it a reliable and dependable companion for any adventure.
