My Favourite Super Saiyan Forms in Ultra Instinct: Goku's Journey to God
During the series Ultra Instinct, Goku has achieved several powerful transformations that capture the hearts and imaginations of fans. Of all these transformations, I have a deep preference for the Super Saiyan God. In this article, we will delve into the characteristics, strengths, and limitations of each transformation.
Honor and Versatility: Super Saiyan God
Super Saiyan God (SSGod) marked an exciting new beginning for the Saiyan lineage. This transformation evokes a sense of divine power and new beginnings, which set the tone for the Ultra Instinct series. The SSG transformation has a pristine and simplistic appearance, appealing to players and viewers alike for its beginner god power vibe.
During its crucial battle with Beerus, Goku's SSG transformation showcased impressive growth in power. Additionally, it introduced novel abilities such as regeneration, which remained relatively rare throughout the series. SSG is largely overshadowed by its successors—particularly Super Saiyan Blue Achilles. However, its value as a powerful and strategic form persists to this day.
Ultimate Saiyan: Super Saiyan 4
Super Saiyan 4 (SS4), often perceived as the ultimate form of the Saiyans, adds a finality to the transformation process. The SS4 transformation is a testament to the Saiyan's ultimate potential. Unlike the Omega Echo, SS4 remains an honor
Traditional Powerhouse: Super Saiyan
Super Saiyan (SS) serves as the foundational form for the Saiyan lineage. As the OG (Original Gear) and a turning point for the Dragon Ball series, this form has immense historical significance. Goku's SS transformation in the early fights, particularly his battle with Frieza, underscored the form's importance and the immense power it grants.
Evolving Power: Super Saiyan 2 and 3
Super Saiyan 2 (SS2) and Super Saiyan 3 (SS3) represent progressive stages of power. SS2's debut with Gohan against Cell provided a cathartic moment, showcasing a direct evolution and ascension from the original SS form. However, SS3's over-the-top appearance often detracts from its utility, as it is more of a spectacle than a strategic advantage.
Unmatched Power with Effortless Strength: Super Saiyan Blue
Super Saiyan Blue (SSJB) continues to be a highly debated form. The anime version often lacks the dynamic power that its manga counterpart offers. In the manga, SSJB represented a significant upgrade, allowing for strategic use with the help of the SSJG form. The manga version of SSJB even allowed for extended use, thanks to the Perfected Super Saiyan Blue, significantly enhancing its viability in battles.
Ultimate Instinct: Ultra Instinct
Ultra Instinct (UI) further refines the martial art principles of the Saiyans. I maintain a preference for the original Ultra Instinct. While the subsequent forms like UI/Akuma no Mi/Kami can be viewed as recolors of the original UI, they often deviate from the core principle of utilizing one's anger to achieve greater power. True UI (TUI) reshapes UI into another super saiyan form, diluting its original purpose.
