My Battle with Anime: A Teenager’s Perspective

As a teenager, I've always had my own unique set of interests, and anime was once not one of them. Now, let me share my honest thoughts on why I find anime quite off-putting, and what exactly changed my mind.

Why I Initially Hated Anime

There are different reasons why someone might hate anime. Some might dislike it because it originates from Japan, while others might have simply tried it and found it not their cup of tea. Regardless, you don't have to like it. As they say, to each their own. Personally, I think it's awesome, but here's why I initially hated it.

I never really understood why people were so into anime. It seemed like an over-sexualized, wired, and uncomfortable experience to watch. And let's face it, those anime bashes can be tiring! Now, some people might argue, "Aw, you probably watched the bad ones. Start with Death Note, One Piece, and Attack on Titan

My Review of Anime

Here's my review of anime: it is an over sexualized garbage that makes no sense. It somehow has gained a massive fan base that worships it, and I find it hard to comprehend. If you want normal content, you can check out Adventure Time, Chowder, Fairy Tail, Danny Phantom, Close Encounters of the Shark Kind, and The Regular Show. Some people just pretend to like anime to stir up controversy online, but they really watch regular cartoons.

Freedom to Form Your Own Opinion

Everyone has the right to their own opinion, and being a teenager, it's even more valuable. Don't let others dictate what you should like or dislike. I personally hate anime because of how cringeworthy it is. Terms like "uwu" are soul-crushing. If you've tried anime and found it unappealing, there's no need to force yourself. It's all about managing your time and choosing what resonates with you.

Genres of Anime

Just like with movies, anime has a wide variety of genres. Not everyone enjoys the same type of content. I don't like romantic comedy movies, but that doesn't mean I don't love movies in general. Some animes I hate; others I love. It's all about personal taste and preference. If you're interested in more mature content, explore shows categorized as "Seinen" or "Shonen."

Conclusion

In conclusion, it's important to embrace your own tastes and not let others dictate your preferences. If you love anime, that's great. If you hate it and prefer to watch Adventure Time or other cartoons, that's perfectly okay too. The most important thing is staying true to yourself and making choices based on what you enjoy.
