Can Batman Beat Superman in the Upcoming Movie?

Well, logic dictates it should be Superman, but I wouldn't bet on it. Unless we're talking about plot armor, let me make it clear that Batman has nothing absolutely nothing that can take out Superman. No suit of armor, no kind of weaponized warhead, not even Kryptonite. Even something like Kryptonite takes a considerable amount of time to bring Superman down to Batman's or basically anyone else's level.

There's no way Batman can defeat Superman unless Superman wants to be defeated, is weakened by mind control/plot armor, or is holding back big-time. And you know Batman. He's the God of plot armor. Any and every superhero is nerfed by at least 50% when entering Batman's universe. How else would the Dark Knight stand a chance?

Case in Point: The Dark Knight Returns (TDKR) and Frank Miller

The major source of inspiration for the upcoming movie and a key reference for the popular misconception that Batman defeated Superman, comes from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns (TDKR). In an alternate future conjured entirely by Frank Miller, the real good old Supes wanted no part of it—Superman was nearly killed by a nuke. The guy who had been to space dozens of times and even tanked a supernova was almost killed by a nuke, which had no traces of Kryptonite, red sun radiation, or magic. Why? Because he was scheduled to fight Batman.

Batman needed to rely on:

Superman's weakness caused by his near-death experience in the blast, which was absurdly inconsistent to begin with. A suit of armor powered by the entire city of Gotham. Consecutive sonic and electric blasts. And a Kryptonite warhead, which he didn't even fire; he got Oliver Queen to do it.

Batman did all of the above and more. I didn't mention it all in order to land a few punches on Superman, who was still standing, by the way. After which, he had to fake his own death to escape safely.

Dont get me wrong. Superman needed to be defeated in that particular scenario. He became a sellout working for a broken government. Why Frank, why people? People love Superman too!

One can easily see the lengths to which Frank Miller went in order to make sure Batman finished on top, which he didn't. He ended up in a grave. So, I guess Miller brought back some logic into the story.

Justice League Animated Series and Batman's Influence

In the Justice League animated series, Batman dodges Darkseid's Omega Beams. Sounds impressive, doesn't it? Omega Beams are theoretically infinitely fast and can only be dodged by a Flash or Superman with a lot of luck. You see where I'm going with this. Everyone else is nerfed when Batman is in play.

In TDKR, it was Frank Miller who made sure of it. In BvS: DoJ, it will be Zack Snyder, but I'll tell you right now: Batman will not lose.

Heck, the movie Superman is not even a hundredth of the comic Superman. He's about as weak as the one we saw in TDKR. So, that makes the job easier, doesn't it?

To conclude, the upcoming movie is set to challenge the age-old myth of Batman defeating Superman. But with plot armor and the way the story is structured, we can safely predict that Batman will not lose. It's a testament to the power of narrative and the influence of Frank Miller and Zack Snyder, who have ensured that the Dark Knight stands tall.

Keep an eye out for the **upcoming movie** and the debate surrounding Batman vs. Superman. It's sure to be a thrilling spectacle with **plot armor** and **superhero showdowns** at its core.
